501 Philosophy
Running is empowering. It teaches us tenacity, discipline, team work, diversity. Running is for everyone no matter how fast or how not so fast. It is a sport that embraces all who join and does not discriminate. It is a sport that encourages and supports its fellow runners. Runners embrace each other and carry a "common" bond that cannot be broken only shared.
501 History
Running Fit 501 began in Ann Arbor over 20 years ago as Running Fit's "Marathon 101", a full and half marathon training class for the "fit" and the "not-so-fit".
In 2002 the name was changed to Running Fit 501 and eventually expanded its training program to four of the Running Fit locations, Ann Arbor, Northville/Novi, West Bloomfield, and now in Traverse City.
New for 2012, Running Fit developed the inclusive 501 Running Club, a year round running club that offers training programs in Northville/Novi, West Bloomfield, Traverse City, and in Ann Arbor for the "fit" and the "not-so-fit".
